This book tells a story of Henry Reyna and the 38th Street Gang who were tried for the murder in Los Angles. Street Gang gets into a fight at a party, where a young man is murdered. Discriminated against for their zoot-suit wearing Chicano identity. That is the history of the story, but in the book there's a character named Luis Valdez. He was born on June 26, 1940. He was one of ten children. He lived in Delano California. Valdez worked in San Francisco Mime Troupe for a year before helping Hispanic Labor leader Cesar Chavez organize workers during the Great Delano Grape Strike of 1965.
