How have you advocated for yourself during your internship, or seen advocacy demonstrated in other situations?
I have communicated a lot with my mentor and staff around the company. When I am being taught about something or shown work from either the manufacturing side of business I ask questions about anything. If I don’t understand something and I need more knowledge on anything I communicate that by asking good questions and they are very open with me when I do so. I show interest and I am friendly with everybody. The company and people working in the company are friendly and have a good sense of humor, so everybody is just in a good mood and you could sense a good vibe. I walk in everyday with a positive attitude and listen to instruction given to me and I am excited on learning something I am truly interested in and that’s one of the main reasons why I love my internship. I have avery open work space they allow me to walk in on people and see what they are doing. Everybody is just very cool people and are open to show me knew stuff.
Are you following the advice in "How to be an intern everyone remembers"? If so, how is it working out? If not, what are you going to start doing?
I feel that I am following this advice and this is because I keep myself busy and I make sure to find something to do, so helping out on anything, whether it's handed to me or I offer. I have a notebook I carry with me everyday and write down important stuff I need to know and remember for the company. I have important information of the company and information for me to know for the future or just for my purposes. I write on it everyday I go to my workplace. I also keep professional dress code. I dress in business casual. When I am in the front office I have to dress up a bit more, but when it’s not in the front office and I go out to the manufacturing or i’m upstairs or downstairs in my office or other offices/ staff’s work spaces where I am usually at working I don’t have to dress up professionally.
