Learning about a new culture is always interesting for me especially this one. This is the Japanese culture we learned about. Doing a project on this was interesting because we had to bring in something to the class so we can show and explain what it is. For me I had to do the Tea ceremony topic for Japan. The tea ceremony is also called the Way of Tea. It's a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presented of matcha. Matcha is powdered green tea. Zen Buddhism was the primary influence in the Japanese tea ceremony. Tea gatherings are classified as an informal and formal tea gathering. The powdered green tea was first used in religious rituals in Buddhist monasteries. The Japanese tea ceremony developed as a "transformative practice" and began to evolve its own aesthetic, in particular that of "sabi" and "wabi" principles. Wabi is the inner or spiritual experiences of human lives and sabi is outer, or material side life.
